Sheri McCoy Elected to FIRST Board of Directors

Manchester, NH – February 5, 2007 – Sheri McCoy, Johnson & Johnson Company Group Chairman responsible for the worldwide Ethicon franchise, has been elected to the board of directors of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).

“Sheri brings an incredible wealth of engineering and leadership experience to our board,” said John Abele, FIRST chairman. “She has demonstrated a deep personal commitment to the FIRST mission, and we look forward to her contributions in this expanded role. We believe her insight and experience will help to guide the organization as we strive to bring the FIRST experience to more schools and students.”

McCoy began her 25-year Johnson & Johnson career as an associate scientist in Research & Development for Personal Products Company. She later served as Global President for the Baby and Wound Care franchise within Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc., and was appointed Company Group Chairman in the corporation’s Medical Devices & Diagnostics group in 2005.

McCoy has a Bachelor of Science degree in textile chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University, and an MBA from Rutgers University. She holds four U.S. patents
