Mention one thing about previous years competitions that you will always remember: During my first year on the team we were eligible to compete in the nationals in Atlanta. We fundraised the money we needed and made all the reservations we needed. Yet when we arrived the hotel had given away our rooms and we were thrown out on the streets. We were able to find a hotel to hold us for the night, the hotel was actually really nice but I’ll never forget how our first hotel gave our rooms away. That same trip my friend Emily who is on the team had an allergic reaction and didn’t have her EpiPen. Needless to say, this trip was not going very well for us. After a little scare we gave her some benadryl and sugar-water (a home remedy suggested by chaperone) and the hives went away. The funniest part happened that night when Emily started hallucinating about an egg that she needed to find and protect. Obviously we will never let her live that down. Our Trip to Atlanta became a very memorable one. |
