This is the first week for driver trials.  You must be thinking…do they have a robot built already? I could say yes, but the true answer is no…not really.  We completed the trials with last year’s robot.  We plan to complete the rest of the trials with ROBBE Version 2008 but for now version 2007 is going to have to do.  We also prototyped a catapult attachment for the robot.  Although this option was “better” at projecting the ball…and by that we mean it threw the ball farther, it was not as reliable.  After only two throws our materials have crashed and PVC pieces were flying around the room.  Let’s just say we are very thankful of barricades and safety glasses. 

The marketing team completed the critical task of finalizing the design of the uniforms.  We also contacted many businesses and asked for donations for our Pasta Dinner fundraiser.  During this week we also planned for the community service activities including a showing at the library and a technology session with the local Middle School.

Drive/Design: Began drive trials on each member of that subgroup and narrowed it down to the three best drivers. Of course a few incidents occurred with the robot, but they were surprised and moderated. They also called upon the team members to find the best methods to go about grabbing the ball.

Marketing: Worked arduously on preparing for the pasta dinner and called companies for donations. They also began working on the banner.

Web Design: The tem began tying the loose ends to finish off the webpage. They also asked the photojournalism team to update the team's old information.

Photo Journalism:Continued the picture taking and worked to get done the tasks asked of them by the webpage. Finally the photojournalism team was presented with the Chairman's submission and tried to figure out how they would go about completing it this year.
