What is it?
FIRST Place is a program that lets everyone discover, explore, and learn all types of math, science, and technology. It promotes innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and teaches modern skills like self direction, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
Self direction is motivating oneself to carry learning into action as life longer learners.
Communication is demonstrating knowledge and understanding through various oral, written, and presented means.
Collaboration is a joint effort, demonstrating teamwork by accepting diverse perspectives and working methods with others.
Critical Thinking is the analyzation, evaluation, and interpretation of data through questioning.
The facility offers a "working laboratory" capable of changing according to the workshop or event. There are a wide variety of hands-on activites with real-world applications for all ages.
