FTC is the robotics competition using sports models with teams of up to 10 students. They work together designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in alliances against other alliances. The robot kit is reusable from year-to-year even though the competitions change, and are able to be programmed with various languages. Students, coaches, mentors, and volunteers, are have to develop strategy and build robots based on the engineering principles.
