El escudo de nuestro equipo representa a cada uno de los subequipos que se unen para formar ROBBE

Nuestro equipo es mucho más que "construir robots", de hecho, organizamos a nuestros miembros en siete subequipos; donde cada uno es responsable de un flujo de trabajo y un conjunto de entregables. Un miembro del Consejo de Liderazgo Estudiantil y un mentor  lead   cada sub-equipo.

Safety

Safety & Compliance

Safety is paramount with everything we do and the safety team is responsible for educating the entire team and creating a safe work environment at all meetings and events. Members of the safety team should have or willing to become first aid and CPR certified. Compliance is responsible for understanding the entire rule book and ensuring the robot will pass inspection. Compliance team members work in close collaboration with robot development. Members of the safety and compliance team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Administering safety quizzes

  • Arranging safety instruction classes

  • Inspecting tools prior to each build session

  • Building and organizing the work area at the build facility and the pit at competitions

  • Compiling the robot bill of materials

  • Verifying all rules are satisfied throughout the build process

Strategic Planning & Logistics

Strategic planning and logistics handle all of the money. The team is responsible for overseeing all development activity and budget tracking. Students are also responsible for preparing the team for all events with equipment, people, and food. Members of the strategic planning and logistics team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Tracking fundraising activity

  • Leading fundraising events

  • Developing budgets and expense tracking

  • Planning and coordinating team travel

Community Outreach

R.O.B.B.E. strives to make our community a better place to live and work. Members of the community outreach team oversee volunteer events including public demonstrations of the robot, community service activities, and mentoring of younger students through our BuddyBot initiative with robotics programs at the middle and elementary schools. Members of community outreach may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Recruiting new team members

  • Organizing the robot reveal event

  • Coordinating food and clothing drives with local pantries

  • Hosting Maker Day events at the Bound Brook Library

  • Providing mentor support for younger students through BuddyBot and other initiatives

Branding

Branding team members learn about graphic design, digital printing techniques, industry software, photography, videography, and what it means to “build a brand.” Posters, brochures, apparel, buttons, website, pit design, and our team mascot is all the work of the branding team. Previous artistic experience is not required, but if you love to draw, paint, take photos, or do arts and crafts, our branding team is the team for you. Members of branding team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Designing posters, clothing, and other promotional items

  • Learning industry software used for professional publishing

  • Taking pictures and videos

  • Editing and producing content for public events in conjunction with the community outreach team

Team Development

Team development aims to enhance the personal skills of every member of the team and advocate our team's qualities to others. Team members proactively find ways to help every student grow as a person, whether it is expressing ideas, cold calling, presentation skills, or applying to college by engaging with each of the other sub-teams. Members of the team development team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Producing the Chairman's Award submission

  • Holding judges practice

  • Informing team of scholarship opportunities

  • Leading ice breakers and team building activities

Communications

Communications is tasked to keep track of all information about the team. Team members are responsible for the administration of the team cloud storage as well as the development of the R.O.B.B.E. 56 newsletter, our information letter that is sent out to parents and interested parties involved with the team.  Members work closely with the branding and outreach teams to ensure R.O.B.B.E. delivers a consistent message across all platforms. Members of the communications team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Writing and distributing the newsletter

  •  

  • Maintaining the team cloud storage ensuring members have the correct access to the files they need

  • Send internal communications (emails and social media) to ensure team members are aware of meetings

  • Speak at school board meetings to keep board members informed of team efforts

  •  

Robot Development

Robot development is responsible for technical aspects of the robot. The team drives the creation and development of the competition robot. Members of the robot development team may be involved with any or all of these tasks:

  • Fabrication of the actual robot

  • Programming the robot

  • Driving the robot

  • Supporting the robot at competitions as pit crew

  • Leading scouting activity at competitions
